Did the Directv Stream channel guide just change last night?

I'm using a Smart TV with an Amazon Firestick and everything was fine until last night.  When using the channel Guide,  we used to scroll from the "A" channels backward to view the "V" and "T" channels or when at the bottom of the alphabet, we were able to keep scrolling further down so the "A" channels would start over again. 

Now, when you open the Guide from whatever channel you're on, it automatically defaults to the "A" channels and you must scroll all the way through the entire guide to view channels further down in the alphabet. 

Also, when watching a channel and you want to view the guide, it previously defaulted to the current channel you're viewing, but now it defaults to the "A" channels again.  The only quick way to view a channel further down the list is if you're already watching that channel and you use the "View Now" option.  Will the guide scrolling option be changed back please?  Many thanks!

I am using a Fire Stick and the guide still works as before - it circles from A to Z  and Z to A - no changes. As fa as returning to the previous channel watched, in most cases, it returns to that channel - even if I exit the application. Not sure what your issue might be. Have you tried to reinstall the app to see if it corrects the guide.

Hi... Thanks for your quick response.  Yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled the Directv Stream app today and still the same issue.  We have another TV using a Firestick and it still reflects the previous version like the way yours is.  However, it keeps saying to update the app and we didn't know if there was some new update that may have caused this and we haven't updated it on that TV yet.  Thanks!

I’m having similar issue the other day the channel list would keep scrolling and go from Z back to A and keep scrolling now it ends at Z  and I have to reverse all the way to get back to A. Please fix as I loved the scrolling vs what I had on sling!

Hi Daniela...  Thanks for the advice and I performed the basic troubleshoot steps of checking my Internet, clearing the cache and data on the Directv Stream app, but sorry to say, still the same issue.  Thanks!

You may also try to visit Amazon's Device Support Center to explore further troubleshoots of your FireStick device or even a software update, that can help to get the DIRECTV STREAM app working as wished.

@Happy_Camper  Did you get it to switch back? I’ve done a reset and still it won’t scroll from Z straight to A.

Having the same issue.  Works on Roku but not fire stick.  None of the generic troubleshooting steps work.  This is a bug that needs to be FIXED and only happened after the switch from ATT TV to Directv Stream.

Clear the  cache for DTV Stream in your Fire Stick settings.  Was having the same issue and that fixed it for me.

Is anyone still having the issue the with guide not circling? I have 7 firesticks and same issue on all. As others stated it started after the switch from AT&T. It looks like the guide was recently updated with option to view by channel number but it still doesn't circle. I've tried clearing cache, reinstalling, etc.

i'm still having the same issue.  i've contacted support numerous times and it has been 'escalated' on multiple occassions.   the techs always have me do the same troubleshooting steps and they never work.  they need to revert to the att version!  the guide still does not open on the current channel i'm viewing and does not wraparound.

Have the same issue (plus more) on my Roku Ultra app. The problem started in mid Dec 2021 when some fool tech decided to revamp the app guide display. Now the A-Z scroll through only works when the guide is set to 'ALL' but not when set to 'FAVORITES' or any other option. The fool also redid the selected channel's INFO blurb by making the FONT COLOR a Dark Grey (rather than white) over a black background. Additionally the guide has become sluggish and often leaves 4 successive channels void of any info until they are scrolled past. Duh.

I've had DirectTV (using a Roku App) since it's inception several years ago and have observed many stupid inept changes and multi month delays in getting the inept programming fixed. ATT used to offer a  discount until their techs corrected the self made problems. Now it seems they just take our money and over an apology. There's no reason for such mistakes to be ignored for weeks or months or years. Plus there should be a multi channel page function, but there isn't.
