Directv Stream app frequently buffering (on Roku, not Samsung)
Hi,
I have a Sony TV, and am using a Roku Streaming Stick 4K with the DirecTV Stream app. I'm frequently seeing live channels buffering. Very frustrating when it occurs in sports.
I've recently upgraded my wireless network, and moved some of the devices to a separate network.
I've also seen this on other TVs - also using the DirecTV Stream on the Roku.
I've got plenty of bandwidth, so I'm guessing it's with DirecTV. Is this being addressed?

It's not with DirecTV. I have no issues streaming live channels on either of my Rokus. Typically this is caused by slow internet speed at your Roku. How is your Roku connected to your home network? How far from your wireless router? What's your internet download speed at the Roku's location (speedtest.net)?

I'm using Eero mesh extenders, and the Roku is about 20 feet away from one. I'm getting 40 MB download where the Roku is at (using speedtest)
Note - I don't see the buffering issues with Netflix or Amazon Prime.

ou can not compare live multi-stream services like DirecTV Stream to single stream services like Netflix or Amazon. The data delivery is totally different. I would suggest that you reset everything again (modem, router and devices).

Thanks - I did read that multi-stream services are different than single stream. But wouldn't that mean that the issue is in their network infrastructure, not my wireless network?
The reason I brought up that I don't see it in Netflix/AP is to show that I have sufficient bandwidth for video streaming in my home network.
Or am I missing something?

I'll have to wait 'til the end of the work day to reboot everything.
Come to think about it, we've noticed it mainly with local channels. What does that mean?

Try google DNS 8.8.8.8, that helped me a lot.
