DIRECTV STREAM - LIVE Program Recording ENDS BEFORE the end of the broadcast

Recording with DIRECTV STREAM (NOT via the DVR like in the satellite service) - LIVE Program Recording ENDS BEFORE the end of the broadcast.  Example, GOLF Channel 218, LIVE PGA Tour event like the Phoenix Open 2nd round on Friday, 2/11/22 recording ENDED approx. on the 15th hole well before the LIVE event ended on the channel?  On the satellite service with the Genie DVR, you have options to add time to the end of the broadcast recording to catch when a sporting event goes over the scheduled time, playoffs, etc.  On the STREAM service, there are NO options that I am aware of to do this, even with the DIRECTV Streaming box.

Just record the next program in case the time exceeds the original time slot. There is no tool to extend programming.

Thank you for the suggestion, but that works great when recording a ONE-TIME event, but having to remember to do this EACH time on every PGA Tour event and/or day of the event, is just NOT practical.  On the satellite service Genie DVR when recording a "Series", you can ADD time to the end of the event of the ENTIRE SERIES so you ALWAYS catch any event and/or day of the event runs over (which in the PGA Tour events, is almost all the time).

Unfortunately this is not the satellite service. The issue has been discuss and requested many times before like other enhancements. Not much has improved. Recording and DVR services are very primitive. Maybe sometime in the future but don't expect any quick changes.

All I can say to that is we can agree to disagree - this is simply a poor UI design, especially when they had the satellite service SERIES recording UI to try to replicate on the STREAM service.

Got nothing to do with an "agree"! It's not available. Period! Got an issue then voice your concern to support. No one here can resolve the issue.

Already entered an escalated case to support (Case ID:  1258145265) - just thought I would also document the case here, as well, to see if anyone had a "magical workaround" (other than the one you mentioned, which I do appreciate) that I had not thought of.  If not, as you indicate, then hopefully this will prompt DIRECTV Stream to hopefully consider adding this feature to help everyone.

You are not he first over the years that has entered an escalation case. Nothing has transformed. So if you are expecting any resolution soon, if ever, then I would not wait.

Hi, thanks for reaching out.

@bcbsncjlj , thank you for your contribution.

@breed44, we are big sports fans and want you to enjoy your PGA events. We appreciate any feedback we get because we're always working to provide the best service to our customers. At the moment, DIRECTV STREAM's only alternative is to record the next program. When you have a game you definitely want to watch until the very end, we recommend you record the next program too.

I recorded the Daytona 500 yesterday and it shut off with 12 laps remaining.  Very frustrating. Why don’t you hire someone from YoutubeTV.  They get this issue right.  By far the best DVR system in any streaming service.  I may need to go back even though I can’t stand google.

Hello @ToddB61, let's find out what happened with your programming.

1. Please share with us the streaming device you are using to record programming.
2. Did you get an error code or message of the recording?
3. By any chance, was the Daytona 500 extended from regular schedule?

Roku Ultra is what I used.  No error message.  Auto races almost always go over the allotted time.
