Directv Stream pixelating

Don't know if anyone will see this but I'm a new Directv Stream customer coming from 20 years of Uverse.  Bill was going up to nearly $300 with TV and internet and it was time to "cut the cord".  On a 5 day trial with Directv Stream and my oldest smart tv, a Sony Bravia, about 8-10 years old, is pixelating on a few channels, but CBS the worst. Ordered a box and will see if that works.  Doesn't pixelate on my other smart tv's withOUT a box.  Wondering if it's my old smart tv or Sony?  Thoughts?

It could definitely be your old smart TV struggling. What specific channels were pixelating in particular? How are the internet speeds in that room? You stated that your other devices weren’t doing this?

Always use an external streaming device. Lot cheaper in the long run to replace a streaming device than a TV. Those Smart TV apps are notorious for being non-performers. External devices are more powerful and receive better support over time. TV manufactures are more interesting in selling TVs than maintaining hardware.
