Directv Stream remote not working on Soundbar
Soundbar shows as being paired, but Stream remote does not work increasing or decreasing volume. I have tried forgetting the device and paired again, but no change.

Recieved and set up the new remote and after pairing all is working as expected

What is the make and model of your Soundbar? Have you tried rebooting the DIRECTV STREAM box? Has the Soundbar ever worked with the DIRECTV STREAM remote?

I just got Directv Stream yesterday, so never worked. Should I do the reboot of the remote?

Hello @neunera, we want to give you a hand with the sound situation of your DIRECTV STREAM device.
Since you already tried to troubleshoot your remote, let's try the following basic troubleshooting for your device:
1. Restart your device press the red button on the side or unplug it for 30 seconds, then turn it back in.
2. Check your internet or Wi-Fi connection and test your signal strength using your remote: Press the Home button, then Settings > Help > Troubleshooting > Run Network Diagnostics.
Try using an Ethernet cable to connect to your DIRECTV STREAM device instead of Wi-Fi.

I did all of the above, looking at system, Remote & Devices, Program your remote, Switch Volume Control. It's set to TV, and will not allow me to select Speaker system. When I select it, nothing changes

1. Open DIRECTV STREAM on your TV device.
2. Choose Settings and then System.
3. Select Remote & Devices, then Program Your Remote.
4. Choose the TV manufacturer or sound bar you want to add.
5. Follow the prompts to finish up.

Did this, still not working using the remote.
Doing the set up process above, it was able to increase the sound as expected and said that I should be able to use the remote for sound control. Unfortunately still does not work.
Directv Stream is sending a new remote. Fingers crossed

I have an insignia soundbar that cannot be detected by the DIRECTV stream remote. Is there a way to program it with a code instead? I’m stuck as it doesn’t work at all.

Did you try to add it in the remote settings? I see Insignia is listed under "system" -- "remotes and devices"--"speaker system"

Yes. Insignia is there. However the standard scanning doesn’t work (ie never gets muted), and manual model lookup doesn’t find my model.
