Directv Stream/Roku remote down arrow no longer triggers guide

Pressing DOWN on the roku remote use to bring up the guide.  However that stopped working as of this morning.  Directv App Build 3750102 Version 3.34.

Now to get to the guide you have to hit the Back button, then select guide (multiple button presses).

DAY 6 -- Come on @DIRECTVhelp you said you have a fix, roll it out already or revert us to the previous app...

New but not improved.  The main back arrow on the remote should be reserved for the overall ROKU device NOT for in app navigation.  The positional arrows around the OK button are now useless from whatever your currently viewing.  Hope they have a fix or update in mind.  The layout is fine but getting around it is now more complicated and not user friendly at all.

and let us hope that the "fix/update" is not worse than than the original change. Maybe this time the developers will do some kind of UAT (user acceptance testing)

....and NOW it appears that the down button and the original landing display has been re-activated (at least in this location...Chapel Hill NC).  I haven't testing functionality yet but it looks like a roll back

UPDATE > checking TV's with different types of Roku devices.....the down arrow is definitely restored on all my versions (Ultra, Express, stick) but original landing display comes up on stick only but not so so bad on the others...you have go navigate to vertical nav bar to get to library......not hard...one  move.

Your mileage may vary....I don't know how/when they roll these out

I'm hearing it went back into production this morning and should be updated on the newest Roku version. I do not run a Roku myself to test, but seems the down arrow functionality is back.

Updated here in Arizona on my Roku Ultra

It's updated on my Roku (though I had to tell it to update - wasn't done automatically), but still wish the start screen would begin with the last watched channel (audio *and* video) instead of showing what's on, continue watching, etc. with audio of the channel playing. Have to click the back arrow or go to the Guide and reselect the channel to get video. I just do not like these attempts to fix what wasn't broken.

Roku tv in NJ - down arrow still not functioning.

I just got the update in South Florida.. but it does NOT fix the problem.  Now to get to the guide you have to press DOWN -> UP -> OK.  It's still 3 button presses, and the BACK button has exactly the same functionality... Ridiculous!!!

I previously posted that mine wasn’t updated. I just did the update myself: settings/system/software update.

Still sux

The problem is still not fixed. If watching live TV, Arrow down brings up the same menu that starts up when you first turn on the DIRECTV app with Roku:

What’s on now

Continue watching

etc

My down arrow works and the back takes you to the same place. Down and back look the same.

Interesting, DirecTV posted to reddit that the problem had been fixed, but they just removed/locked the post.

I guess it is hard to admit that the redesign you just paid a ton of money for is about as popular as syphilis with your customers.

I ran the App Update function on Roku and now the down arrow brings up the new menu screen.  A slight improvement, it doesn't restore the old down arrow function where you could easily scroll to the guide, library and sports, you still have to navigate the clunky new landing page.

Also, hitting the back arrow button doesn't try to force you out of the app anymore, it returns you to what you were watching.

I'll give them a 2 out of 5.
