DVR Recordings DO NOT start at beginning of program

This topic was discussed a few years ago on this forum but the responses focused on the Firestick.  I’m having the same issue but I’m using Apple TV.  Here’s the issue:

Why don't my recorded programs always play from the beginning? It records the entire show, but when I hit play they randomly start somewhere in the middle. Sometimes they start near the beginning and sometimes near the end.  Why? This is especially frustrating for sporting events if they start playing half way through and I see the score!
