DVR recordings starting late

Most of my shows have already started when I turn on the recording watch now. Why are they delay recording?

Notice that Direct TV Help only wants to deal with one issue.  Not the ABC/FOX delayed recording problem.  I think a lot of people are experiencing this but may not realize it.  But it's interesting that you are in TN and I am in CA and we are both experiencing delayed recordings on those 2 networks.

Thank you for bringing that to our attention. Let's try to cover the basics first:

1) Turn your TV off and back on.

2) Make sure your Roku player or TV is not in standby or screensaver mode, by pressing any button on the Roku remote control. If the player responds, it's working normally.

3) Check the video input cable to make sure it is firmly connected to your Roku player and to the HDMI or composite connector on the TV.

4) Try disconnecting and reconnecting all Roku cables, including the power cable.

5) Make sure your Roku Streaming Stick is snugly connected to your TV's HDMI port, if applicable.

6) Be sure you selected the correct TV video input (or source) that your Roku player connector is connected to. Or try a different input.

Please let us know how it goes.

Network connection is strong. (If it wasn't that would also be your problem.)

All this problem is at YOUR end, I'm afraid. This is a real issue with you folks, we are paying for good service and now it's NOT good service.

I am in Callaway Maryland with the same problems, ABC and FOX delayed recordings.  I'm on a chat now and they are saying to log out, log in, uninstall, reinstall, but it's not helping, at least not for the current recordings.

Cunkle, I refuse to go through all of that. It is clearly DIRECTV's issue. I have 2 TVs I watch regularly and they both have the same problems. I noticed NBC was slow to start last night but very short. Maybe they need to reset their equipment!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, @Nojokes.

We want to provide you some steps and gather some information to troubleshoot this issue.

Please let us know what compatible devices
are you using to stream so we can make sure it is not a compatibility issue.

Also, are you using the latest version of the DIRECTV STREAM app?

Try to reset your device, and let us know whether after the reset process made you continue experiencing this error.

We'll be waiting for the answers.

I watch on 3 different devices, AT&T now device, Samsung TV app, and iPhone app and all 3 have my recordings start at the same time. I will reboot the at &t device but won’t know until  if it is fixed.

Thank you for your response @Nojokes.

Please try that and also remember to make sure that you are using that latest version of the DIRECTV STREAM app. You can delete it and install it again to make sure that it's updated.

Let us know how it goes.

I posted also about this problem (FOX/ABC recordings starting LATE) on page 1 of this thread.  Still happening with no answers from DTV Support.  I see numerous people have posted the same thing and, again, a lot of people may be having this problem and not even realize it.  It's NOT my two DTV BOXES or my Roku!!! And it's NOT my local ABC or FOX.  Starts on time on my Direct TV Satellite.   It's the actual recordings that YOU (Direct TV Stream) are recording from those two networks.  Rebooting, signing in and out and in again doesn't change the failure.   I mean, there is a PROBLEM.  Your experts need to look into this because this is recent (started early March).  Before that it was fine.  Look to see if you updated something around that time that created this problem.

How does this get escalated up? All they have to do is test it out. I tried scheduling a recording of Fox2 News at 9am from the iPhone app, this has nothing to do with the device box and guess what, the clock shows 9:01 when I play back the recording. And yes, I’m using latest version of the app.
