Error when using Remote’s voice control feature

When I use the voice control feature on my DirecTV remote to switch the channel to ION which is on Channel 305), the channel switches to Ovation (Channel 274). Is this a bug in DirecTV’s software or something that can be fixed on my remote or equipment?

I followed the directions for resetting the remote, however it did not resolve the issue. I think it’s a software issue.  In the software, when the voice command to select the channel ION is activated it must be programmed to the incorrect channel.

You can also say the channel number.

When you are using the voice command what is the exact command that you are saying to the remote and have you tried doing a red button reset on your Directv Streaming Box to see if it would clear up this issue?

The command that I am giving the remote is “switch to ion”.   And yes I have pressed the red resetbutton on my DirecTV streaming boxes. I use this command to switch to other channels without any problems. The issue is only with ION. That’s why I think it’s a software mapping problem.

I agree with you that it must be a software problem because mine does the same thing when telling it to turn to ION. So the only thing you can do for now is to tell it to turn to channel 305 and it will take you to ION.  But this only seems to be an issue for this specific channel.
