ESPN+ Issue

I keep getting an error message when trying to access a lot of ESPN+ content. In researching, it seems to be a DIRECTV stream issue.

"0033: THE CUSTOMER IS NOT AUTHORIZED FOR THE CONTENT REQUESTED"

Can anyone help?

I had a similar problem, in the past. What was happening is I had a older regular ESPN sign on, that I was trying to sign on ESPN+ with, instead of using the one that I set up when I purchased ESPN+. Once I used the newer one it worked OK.

I can see most content on ESPN+, but for instance, I can see no ESPN+ content for the US Open Tennis and I don’t understand why. Similarly, during basketball season, I could watch content for obscure leagues, but not the one I’m most interested in. Even taped content is sometimes blocked. This never happened when xfinity was my cable provider and it’s tempting to go back.

nashman320 This error may occur when:

- Customer's programming package doesn't contain the channel they are attempting to stream using a programmer website from a computer or app from a mobile device.

- There may be an authorization issue for the specific content selected.

- There may be an issue with the synchronization of the customer’s account.

To troubleshoot:

1-Verify if you are subscribed to the channel. Does your package include it?

2- Can you Stream programs on this channel on other devices?

We'd like to review your account to assist you properly. Please check your PM to do so.

All the content is through ESPN, which I subscribe to. I have a separate ESPN+ account. Again, this was never an issue when xfinity was my provider so I cannot help but see a connection to DIRECTV.

Do you use the same login credentials for (regular) ESPN and ESPN+?

I contacted ESPN+ chat for help and they essentially said they show many games that we can’t actually watch and the chat person said that is normal. The customer rep also said the majority of ESPN+ subscribers only read articles and don’t watch content. I didn’t find the interaction very helpful, to say the least. I will grant it doesn’t seem to be DIRECTV related.

I've had this problem in the past. I signed out of the ESPN app (both ESPN TV provider credentials and ESPN+ credentials). (Just for good measure) I rebooted the ROKU I was using. Then signed back in to ESPN app (using my Directv stream credentials for ESPN TV provider and ESPN+ credentials for the ESPN+ programming), and all ESPN+ programming access was restored. It didn't turn out to be a DIRECTV Stream related issue.

I’m coming back to correct something. I tried getting into ESPN+ on my work computer, using xfinity as my provider (it is for internet) All aspects of ESPN+ worked……I changed the tv provider on my phone (and DIRECTV stream box) as well to xfinity and it works too. This is an issue with DIRECTV Stream being my tv provider. Just an FYI….
