Frequent Sign In
I watch Directv Stream on a Samsung smart tv. I am frequently asked to sign in with my user name and password. It is a time consuming chore to have to repeat this process every couple of days. I have to use the rv remote to operate the on screen keyboard. Why am I repeatedly asked to sign in? Is there anything I can do or a setting I need to have this not happen several times a week?

Then you are using the embedded Samsung app. External streaming device like Roku, Fire Sticks, and DirecTV Streams proprietary box are examples of external devices. These app are more powerful and better supported then the embedded Smart TV versions. After all, the TV manufacturers are interested in selling TVs not software.

Are you using the native app for the Samsung Smart TV or with an external streaming device? The native app has always had many bugs with the app. Due to the deficiencies of the app, most users have opted to use an external device.

I'm not sure what you mean by "native app" but can tell you that I get Diredtv Stream on an app I found in the app collection on my Samsung TV. What are the "external devices" you reference? I can watch the stream on my laptop computer without the frequent sign in problem.

There are 100's of posts in the forum on the deficiencies of the Samsung app. Just do some searches. Since the release of the app, there has been very little improvement to the app over the years.
