The reason that you cannot add those to your favorite list is that they are not channels they are just shortcuts to those Apps. If you want to turn it to a particular app faster just press your microphone button on your remote and tell your Google assistant what you want it to go to. Hope this explains the reasoning a little better.
I have used the channel guide apps to sign in on an app. But I still don't understand why you can only use the short cuts in the full guide but not favorites guide?

The channel guide for Gemini Air gives the channel number for each apps but no heart to click on to add to favorites unlike all of the other channels.
