Guide time is wrong
I am using a new Samsung smart tv, and Starlink internet. I live in Arizona but my guid is on California time. I miss the first hour of everything. D TV is telling me it is a starlink problem, or a TV problem. I have spent hrs on the phone. Resetting my router, tv, deleting installing the DTV app. In a recent update DTV has removed the ability to manually set a time zone. Up to that point, update, it worked fine. Is there an answer. Help.

The time zone setting is based within the device, not the DTV app. So you should make sure your Smart TV setting is set to the correct time zone. Your device location is based on your modem IP location from Starlink, not the router. Starlink IP address changes constantly, a known issue.

The TV time zone is correct. Everything worked great untill the last DTV update. DTV removed the capability to manually change the time zone in their app. I do understand that starlink changes my pop from Phoenix to LA from time to time but I could always go into the DTV app and fix it,,,,,,, Now I can't. Hours on the phone with DTV and they are no help. They keep repeating the same lines. They ,,,DTV broke the app they should push a fix update. They want me to buy their equipment to fix their mess up.

You might be waiting a long time for any updates to the Samsung DirecTV Stream App. That app has numerous issues. We recommend a $30 Roku or FireStick instead.

litzdog911 you obviously work for DTV. I pay them for a service that they are not providing. Prove me wrong. I'm still waiting for an intelligent answer.

I can assure you that I don't work for DirecTV. I spend my career as an engineer with HP and volunteer my time to help other DirecTV customers, just like the other ACEs in this Forum.
The "intelligent answer" is that the Samsung DirecTV Stream is among the worst out there. TV manufacturers simply don't devote the resources to keep their streaming apps updated. Many, many posts in this Forum about that.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

My apologies.
This Samsung TV didn't come with the DTV app as a built in. And I will admit that I may not be understanding this problem. My confusion is this. If the app gets its time from the internet the " pop " then how is the tv itself at all responsible. And is there a fix. Again my apologies.
