Guide updated today
I was directed here to post my question.
I had ovation on while working at my desk. Everything went silent, I assumed it was going to a commercial. A moment later a different show was on, apparently something updated and the channel changed to another when it came back on a moment later.
So I go to guide to change it back and the appearance is different. A once hidden menu is now constantly on the left of the screen. I don't want to see this menu.
Is there a way to hide it? What was included in the update? Was anything improved or was this change for change sake?
My neighbor noticed too and likes it less than I do, it just takes up too much of the screen for a menu I will rarely use, if at all.
Has anyone one else noticed this change? It seems like I would have gotten some kind of notification of an update and what was changed.

I like this guide much, much better. Before the program INFO was in the middle of the guide and when scrolling it made me dizzy. Now the program INFO is at the TOP where it should be. (BTW, I'm using the DTV Box).
But, I've noticed a BUG!!! When I'm watching a program in a FOLDER (like for example I have about 20 Judge Judy's stored), when the episode is over and I delete it, then the next episode appears. I don't want to watch it and want to return to my live programming.
It USED TO BE that I could hit EXIT to return to my regular, live programming. Now, EXIT doesn't do anything and neither does BACK. To return to my live programming I now have to return to the MENU and select the program again.
This is a pain in the you know what. Direct TV experts? Please run this up the ladder and have them fix this.

Any suggestions for how to hide that menu? It takes up a lot of space. Program info could be there and that menu could be smaller and at top maybe.

We also like the new guide. There appear to be more channels on each page, the print is larger and much easier to read, and the channel logos are larger and clearer. Thanks to DirectTV Stream for making these improvements. I do agree with other comments that they could enhance the new look by adding the name of the channel either in the guide or at least in the expanded channel information at the top of the screen (or both). Some of the logos are still impossible to make out--and we have a 55" TV that we sit about 8 feet from!

I agree the menu on the left should be hidden and only showing 90 minutes of upcoming shows is awful.

One of the main reasons I cancelled my directv stream months ago was because the guide font was way too small and my mom had a tough time reading it. How much did this new update improve that? like compared to Directv satellite guide and Uverse guide font ...is it as large and easy to read as those? any input greatly appreciated..thanks
