How to manually add time to a live sporting event

How do I manually extend the time that a live sporting event is scheduled?

i keep missing the end of the nascar races that I’ve recorded because I can’t find the ability to extend The time.

 Thanks

You can't. DirecTV is rolling out better ability for the DVR service to automatically extend sports recordings, but it's not fully implemented yet. The workaround is to record the show(s) after the desired live event to ensure you capture the whole thing.

You can't at this time but hopefully, they will get this feature in the future as a lot of people really want this feature me included!

I hope they can do this soon- not just football, baseball, hockey, etc, but also for car racing! We recorded Indy car today and the recording ran out with only 8 laps to go! Spectrum, who we had before, allowed the ability to extend any recorded shows.

Just set up record the program following the one you are recording.

Great idea...BUT since we are recording a series, and we aren't always able to check to see when the races are and what times they are running etc. So, recording the next show isn't possible. What we need to do is have Directv add the feature to extend recording times. It is very inconvenient right now to miss the end of the races. If there are crashes, or if it takes 30 min to actually start, the amount of time associated with the show we are recording, isn't always enough time.
