How to Record a Show
I just signed up, yesterday, so I do not even have the DTS device, yet. I am using the streaming app on a different device. How do I schedule a recording of a show?

I am using the Evoca Pilot. The whole reason I just switched to DTVS is that Evoca went out of business, yesterday. The Evoca Pilot does not have a red, record button.
Another option is, since I've found that I can cast from my phone's DTVS app without problem, is to tell me how to record a program from the phone's mobile app.

The Evoca Pilot is an Android TV-based device that plugs into the HDMI port. I think, it's very similar to the DTVS device I'll be receiving shortly. Evoca was a company, only available in the Rocky Mountain West, with the specific purpose of providing a means of watching Altitude Sports, thus the ability to watch Nuggets, Avalanche, Mammoth, and Rapids games, along with an array of other channels, of limited interest to me. The need for a service was the, now, 4-year dispute between Altitude Sports and Comcast, leaving millions of customers with no way to view their local teams, a couple of which are pretty darn good . . . the Nuggets and Avalanche. Evoca could not make their business profitable, however, and Altitude Sports declined their plea to help finance the operation, as a means of addressing the complaints of the fans, so Evoca, sadly, is no more.
I have been a YouTube TV custormer, entirely happy with that service . . . except for the fact that it does not offer Altitude Sports, so I am giving DTVS a try, to try to solve that problem. The combination of YouTube TV and Evoca gave me everything I wanted at a lower price than what that will cost me from DTVS, but I'm biting the bullet, for now.

So you were at least able to download the app to the device, correct? The support document should provide basic info on recording and watching content from the service, although the info is geared towards using the proprietary DirecTV Stream streaming device.

That's correct. The Evoca Pilot allowed one to download any app from the Google Play Store, so I downloaded the DTVS app to the Pilot. None of this would be much of a problem, except the DTVS website is behaving VERY buggily, so the Guide won't move, my account says something different, every time I look at it, including displaying that my account has been cancelled . . . while I'm watching DTVS. I was supposed to get a two-week free trial, but it says that I've been charged, yesterday, already, and I didn't get my introductory discounts, either.

It's not a charge yet. Just a placement holder for verification, just like at a gas station.

OK. I was finally able to get the guide on the website to work on my laptop and find that one can schedule recordings in exactly the same way I did on YouTube TV, so that is a problem solved. As for the other issues with the website, I will just have to take them up via telephone with Customer Support, but I tried that, last evening, and I was on endless hold.
