How to Skip Through Very Long Recordings?

With my old fios box I could hit up and then jump in 10 minute increments.   Netflix FF works good where it gets progressively faster.

However with the DirectTV Stream app the only option is to do 30/60/90 skip by hitting skip over and over?   What if I need to jump 4 hours into a 6 hour recording on a tv?  OFC on a phone it's easy but I am talking about on a tv with firestick, samsung etc.

Thanks

If you are using a Roku/Firestick or any other app, that is impossible to jump any period of time other than to fast forward to the location that you need.  If you had the Directv Streaming Box to stream, you could do this using the remote voice control.

Directv Stream box has 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x fast forwarding---30 second skip forward and 15 skip backwards

Just hit pause and then slide to the right until you get where you want, then hit play.

With the Directv Stream Box and the voice remote you can jump 4 hours into a show that is 6 hours long by pressing the microphone button on the remote and saying skip or fast forward and it will jump that amount of time, it also works with rewind.  I have done this on some recordings that have been 3-4 hours long and needed to skip a significant amount of time because I recorded the whole thing but watched a significant portion of what I was watching.  Just trying to clarify what I was trying to say above!
