I can't change channels or go to the guide (samsung TV)

The guide doesn't work . It's almost like the remote has no control over anything

I don't have a direct tv remote. The problem is if I try to go to the guide to see the channel lineup. I cannot navigate from there. Nothing works once I am on the guide screen. I have to exit the app and start over.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Accessing the Guide on Samsung TV is only available through the Down button on the remote. Then, arrow left to select Guide and press the Select button on the remote. If the issue persists, please uninstall and reinstall the app. Let me know if this helps.

I used to have a Samsung tv---and used the app for a few hours. Samsung app sux. I bought a Gemini Box with remote. It is like night and day

I know how to get to the guide. The problem is once you are on that screen it just freezes and you can't go back, up, down or any direction. You have to shut the tv off and start over.

Please follow these steps to troubleshoot the DIRECTV app. 

 

- Close & restart your app

- Check for DIRECTV app updates in your device’s app store. If you find an update, install it and restart your device.

- Uninstall then reinstall the app


Let me know if the issue persists after completing all steps.

I don't know how to uninstall the app. The directions online just tell me how to remove it from the menu rather than to uninstall the app

No worries! We got you. To uninstall the DIRECTV app on a Samsung TV, you need to:

- Press the Home button on your Samsung TV remote to open up the TV's Home screen menu.
- Navigate to Apps, and then select the Settings icon in the top right corner.
- Select the app you want to delete.
- Finally, select Delete, and select Delete again to confirm.

To add again the DIRECTV app, you can follow: 

- Make sure your device is running OS 7.1 or higher. 
- Search for DIRECTV App in the Google Play Store on your Android TV device.
- Select the DIRECTV App.
- Select Install to begin download.

We just started our Direct TV streaming service yesterday and now we cannot access the Samsung channels on the TV.  Is there a way to have the Samsung channels as well as Direct?

You access the Samsung channels outside the DirecTV app. When you want to access channels via the DirecTV Stream app, you load the DirecTV Stream app and access the channels that DirecTV Stream offers. In other words, they are not integrated.

This is happening to me almost on the daily.  Ever since the app updated and changed the menu view of previous channels where it actually changes the channel when you go through.  I have to uninstall and reinstall the app almost every day.  Is there a fix for this?
