KTLA, KOCE, KCET and KDOC not included in lineup for DIRECTV STREAM in Buena Park California

I have DIRECTV STREAM in Buena Park California. There are 4 channels that aren't included in the line up. KTLA, this is a local Los Angeles channel & part of the CW Network and is on channel 5. KOCE this is the local Los Angeles PBS (Public Broadcasting Station) network for us and is on channel 50. KCET this is also a local Los Angeles PBS network that is on channel 28. KDOC local Orange County/Los Angeles Channel 56. When we had DirectTV at our old address in Buena Park California, they were included in the lineup. Why are these important stations not included in the service you provide on DIRECTV STREAM in the same city?

They only offer stations from the big 4, at this time. ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC. All markets are that way, as far as I can see. It is the same on DIRECTV STREAM.

Hello,

It varies by market what local channels are available. Your address on file is what determines the ones listed (see yours at att.com/tv/localchannels). DIRECTV STREAM is a streaming provider, so some channels don’t have the liscdnce or ability to use that source yet, or have existing deals thought their parent companies (I.e. FOX, CBS, ABC, NBC, etc). Check with support at 800 288 2020 if you see them listed online as local channels included.

From what I can see AT&T now DirectTV doesn't carry all local LA channels at any LA location no mater what address or location you are in the LA area. .

DirecTV Stream does not carry any PBS stations. The only service to offer PBS is YouTube TV.

I enjoy KTLA.  I have been able to use the Amazon Fire Stick with the KTLA+ app to see the news.  If I did not have this option it may have been a deal breaker

@DIRECTVhelp - please try reading the posts before you reply, as it would help keep you from looking clueless.  @escrowgirl isn't reporting a problem, but providing a workaround.

No service (not even cable) carries all the locals most places, since in major markets these days (and including subchannels) that could easily be 60+ channels.  And the live streaming services (not just DirecTV Stream) only carry a small subset of what is available.  DirecTV Stream carries the 4 majors (ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC) in most (but not all) locations, CW in some, Univision and/or Telemundo in some, and in some cases a minor network or major independent.  There are likely both business and technical reasons for the limited carriage of local stations on these services, and it's unclear how much that is going to change over time.  But the live streaming services are much newer than cable, so it is likely there will be additions over time.
