I also have the issue of DirecTV Stream not loading on my TCL Roku tv. Model number 43S405. Software version 11.5.0•build 4322-30. It displays the Directv steam logo and just flickers.

Directv version 3.31 build 3450100

I’m having the same issue. I just signed up for service, downloaded the app on my Roku and signed in. It then flickers DIRECTV stream on the screen. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, removing the Roku from the TV for over a minute, and checking and resetting the wireless connection. Does DIRECTV Stream work on Roku or do I need to cancel my service? Thanks for any help.

Same as above. Roku Sharp TV. Flickering logo.  Just signed up and was going to cancel cable now stuck with another month of high cable bill, but will be sure to cancel this today since not working.  Was thinking of buying their box, but hesitant now if I can't even try it out, then thought what a clever way to push their own $150 box.  All other streaming apps working without issue.

I assume you mean a Roku box with that $150. I haven't seen them for more than $99.

The DIRECTV STREAM branded box is $120 (up front or $5 a month for 24 months) for a brand new one or $49.99 refurbished. Both coming with a 1 year warranty. Unlike other streaming devices, the remote is a full remote (channel numbers, etc.).

Personally, I've found built-in TV apps to be sub-standard. Specs of TV for running those additional programs tends to be weak plus lagging on updates behind dedicated streaming boxes.

Is DIRECTV STREAM intended to work on the DIRECTV STREAM app on Roku?  That was my intended means of using DIRECTV STREAM, as I cut the chord years ago and am not looking to return to a DIRECTV box.  When I originally subscribed, my understanding was that DIRECTV STREAM could be used via its Roku app.  Because I could not get it to work and do not want to pay for or use the DIRECTV box, I cancelled my subscription.  I’m interesting in using DIRECTV STREAM if it can be used via Roku.

Yes, it should work. But the embedded app on a Roku TV might not work as well as the app on a standalone Roku streaming device. Native TV apps are subject to changes that the TV manufacturer makes, and sometimes messes up apps like DirecTV Stream.

Thank you, litzdog.  I was attempting to--and not able to--use DIRECTV STREAM on the DIRECTV STREAM app on a standalone Roku streaming device that I purchased within the last 12 months and with respect to which no other streaming apps give me trouble.  I tried all of the tips provided on this forum topic (e.g., checking internet connection, deleting and redownloading the DIRECTV STREAM app, unplugging/waiting/plugging back in the Roku app, ensuring I have the latest DIRECTV STREAM app, ensuring I have the latest Roku app updates).  After each and every fix attempt, I encountered the same problem of the DIRECTV STREAM app flickering its logo nonstop upon launching the app.

I have an TCL tv model 32S3750. It’s a RokuTv. I am having the same loading issues. I have uninstalled the directv channel and then added it back but that doesn’t seem to resolve the issue. It just tries to load the particular channel and then never loads and eventually the power saving on the tv activates and it’s like a screen saver comes on. What’s weird is that it will not load particular channels once the DIRECTV app is open. I’ve noticed that it doesn’t want to load the ID channel on the DIRECTV app yet if I go to the next channel, which for channel lineup is the ION channel, it loads right up. It’s so bizarre. Please help, I want to be apple to watch my true crime shows.

How old is the TV? Usually these Smart TV apps are very under powered. I would highly suggest you pursue an external device. TV manufacturers are in the business of selling TVs not software.
