Local channels I get do not cover my area in news

I live right on the state line. While I live in state A, I work, play and shop in state B. The news in state B covers my home town while my own home state (A) does not. (They are almost equal distance but my area is lumped into the other state due to pop/shape) Direct TV automatically links me to my home state as it lumps me into my county. Is there any way to force my system to pull State B’s stations instead, so I can get the news more pertinent to me?

Nope. You receive local channels based on your zip code in a particular DMA region. You can verify what locals are available for your area via using the Local Channel Look-Up Tool located here

Hi @Hloppen, we understand you want to watch your home stations, no matter where you are.

Local channel availability is based on your billing ZIP Code and market area. However, if you want to watch the local stations of state B, you can change your billing address on your account to the wanted place, and then you'll be able to watch that programming. Another option for you to watch the desired local channels is to activate the GPS in a compatible device when you're in state B, as mobile devices, like smartphones and tablets, use an internal Global Positioning System (GPS) for location.
