Local Channels on DirecTV Stream

Possibly because DirecTV satellite may of negotiated a contract to carry them, but DirecTV Streaming service hasn't. 

Thanks lou_do.  Thought it might be possible that the satellite carriage and Streaming carriage agreements are exclusive to one another, but wasn't sure given that its the same provider.  Would possibly think that they'd negotiate both platforms together.  Also, the CW and MNT affiliates are owned by the Fox and ABC affiliates respectively in my market, both of which I receive.  Would make for good "one stop shopping" so to speak.

I was a Satellite subscriber for over 20 years before switching to the Streaming service. I see a lot less local stations in the Streaming services, than I had with satellite. But when many cut the cord from cable or satellite they also put in antennas for local stations, so I am sure that is one of the reasons many of the local channels get cut out.

With DirecTV Streaming I get 6 locals, over the air with my attic antenna, I get 68 local channels. 

Thanks Michelle and lou_do for the very helpful answers.  I did double check using the tools you provided Michelle and have the right zip code and all channels currently offered for that zip code.

Make sure your ZIP Code is correct. Go to Location > Location Status and toggle OFF. Press the red button on the side of your device to restart it. Toggle your Location Status ON after you restart.

@Molydoly Available only if you have the DirecTV Stream device. Roku and Fire Sticks do not have location services and do not use the zip code for the service.
