Local channels, recordings, customer service.

After 25 we switched from Direct Tv to directv stream due to the cost and have had nothing but problems. My local channels disappear at least once a week for a few days. My recordings are showing no airings and won’t play. On demand does not work either. Live tv works so it is not an internet issue. I suspect it’s something to do with having Starlink (only internet option) and not having a static IP address. However, I can’t get in touch with ANYONE to help me. Waited over 2 hours on the phone with NO answer and currently waiting an hour after a John Hardy said he would contact someone with stream in a chat. Can someone please help me with anything before I give up and cancel?

I doubt your issues are related to your Starlink internet. Dynamic IP addresses can result in a limited number of streams, but shouldn't cause those other symptoms you're seeing. What streaming device(s) are you using? Do they all have this issue?

Your local channels disappearing is probably due to your Starlink service and the IP address changing, causing you to lose your locals.

As for the recordings, what are you recording? If your local channel content is being recorded, and you are out of your home network (due to your IP changing) then that is the reason.

As @bcbsncjlj mentioned, changing IP address can cause different locals to appear. But that depends on your streaming devices and whether or not they support "location services". What streaming devices are you using?
