Local on the 8’s down to my zip code
Hi as with most cable providers there is a localized feed for The Weather Channel on the cable Headend but as for Direct TV stream there is no SD channel for The Weather Channel to be localized for your local area region. I get a National data feed on HD with Charter and a localized feed with 6 Cities that are in my region of Wright County on the SD channel. I’d love to see an SD channel for the Weather Channel be incorporated into my AT&T package with my zip code to select local weather like how AT&T U-Verse subscribers are able to get localized weather for there region including EAS because I have the equipment to keep my TV on and my Modem and Router in the event of a blackout or power outage. I have a UPS to keep critical information things running and I tune into The weather but due to lack of concern for severe weather most of the channels won’t break into programming for Tornado Warnings and such and only have a ticker going across the bottom of my TV screen. I’d also love to see weather on demand to be implemented.

I miss the localized feed too. Used to have it on my cable and I think Dtv satellite offers it as well. For now, I downloaded the weather channel app to my stream box and just go to that when I want it localized. Same live tv feed just with your local city on the ticker at the bottom of the screen.
