Local Sports blacked out

Why is it advertised that we get sports channels within the local network but when the game goes to come on it blacks out and can’t watch the game. And the game isn’t on a National network either, this is (Edited per community guidelines), false advertising

Hey @Truckie977, let's help clear this out.

Sports blackouts and game availability aren't controlled by DIRECTV. The leagues, associations, and networks buy rights to broadcast certain games and control the broadcast availability. The restrictions they mandate are enforced by DIRECTV. In other situations, national networks like ESPN and TNT have exclusive distribution rights to some events.

You can learn more about Sporting event blackouts here.

Some markets are messed up. I know in the Orlando market we are told we get the Lightning, Panthers, Rays, Marlins, Heat and Magic. Sometimes it will show on of them in the guide and when you select the channel it is an alternative channel. I purchased ESPN+ for hockey games and sometimes I never get to see the games. It will be blacked out on DirecTV Stream and I go to ESPN+ to watch it and it is blacked out there also.
I used to have DirecTV satellite in this same zip code and got all 6 teams, as we had several Sun and Florida channels. Now we only have two. Sometimes there can be 4 teams playing at the same time. Rumors are Bally is coming out with an app you can subscribe to to get all of your local teams. If DirecTV Stream doesn't correct this problem, I am afraid it will be costing them customers, as many subscribe mainly because they are the only service currently with Bally sports. But not the full compliment, in some markets, like Orlando.
