MAX ‘Can’t Verify Subscription’
In the middle of watching a show on Max, the app shut down and asked me to log in. When I attempted to do so using my DIRECTV Stream account, I received the message indicating Max could not verify my subscription.
— I have had Max as a part of my DIRECTV stream subscription for over 5 years without any issue.
— I’ve just re-verified that Max is still a part of my DIRECTV stream package
— I am connected to Wi-Fi and I am able to view other DIRECTV Stream subscriptions.
— I have closed and reopened the app multiple times.
Please advise.

Same. I am on chat with DirectV stream now for over 30 minutes. He doesn't have a clue what is going on.

Support says they are aware of the issue and currently working on it. It should be "resolved soon".

@drs1000 and @Colleen72002 even though you are Directv subscribers try using AT&T as your provider when trying to sign into Max. This is a known issue on Directvs end and they are working to fix this. Who knows when this issue will be fixed?

Logging in with at&t as provider didn't work either.

Same. Couldn’t get in through ATT.
@Colleen72002 in your last conversation with support, they indicated they were aware of the problem and were trying to fix it? Did they have a ETA? Thanks!

Working fine for me on all devices using DirecTV Stream as my provider: Roku, Fire Stick, PC, phone, and Chromebook.

I tried again this evening to get into Max. I tried my smart TV (connected to directv box), my roku TV, my iPad, and my cell. Tried all devices with directvstream and with at&t as my provider. Still no go. Tech support eta last night was "soon".
I have had Max (free with subscription also to internet and cell phone with AT&T) since I subscribed over 7 years ago. It seems like I read it would no longer be complementary for new users after a specific date, but it would remain free for older packages. Could that be how it got disconnected? Online at directvstream still shows Max as part of my subscription. I was watching the finale of a 4 season tv show when it cut out. What a bummer!!

I get the same notification that it can’t verify my subscription, although it is through AT&T Home Phone and Internet service, and when I look at our DirecTV package, Max is shown as an addon and have always used DirecTV as the provider.
Also, logging into DirecTV’s website always prompts the AT&T login. I never could stream video content from the AT&T Home Phone and Internet service since it’s 4G, well, only low resolution YouTube videos. Also have T-Mobile 5G Home Internet which allows me to stream 4K content.
I don’t know why it just started yesterday that it could not verify. I’ll wait a little while. DirecTV customer support tried to help me, but couldn’t figure out the issue. I see she is not aware of the issue.

It appears to be an account issue. Are you using the same credentials for the DirecTV Stream service as your AT&T service? If so, you need to use different credentials for each service, as it confuses the system. You should be using DirecTV Stream as the provider. MAX is working fine on all my devices using DirecTV Stream as a provider.

I have 3 separate accounts each with unique credentials for AT&T Internet, AT&T wireless and DirectVStream. Max worked fine on all of my devices up until the other night when it just cut off. I have just tried again on my cell using directvstream as my provider and giving it my directvstream credentials and tried with at&t as provider and directvstream credentials. No go.

Do you have linked accounts for your services? There is a reason that when you log in with your DirecTV Stream credentials that you get the AT&T login screen. You should not see AT&T but the DirecTV login screen. Something is messed up with your account.

I do not have linked services. When I normally login to my directv account on a computer I go to a directv page for the login. When I choose directvstream as the provider when trying to login into max it takes me to an at&t screen for login.
In any case, the directv support page on reddit has posted they are aware of the issue and are still working on it. The last update from them on their support page was 7 hours ago.

The same thing happened to me last night! I tried all of the above recommendations & none were successful. Glad to know this wasn't just an issue on my end. We spend a great deal of money to remain loyal Direct TV customers, especially with all the streaming options out there. Let's hope they can get it resolved.

Has anyone encountered a fix? Going on 4 days does not sound like “soon”

We spoke with customer service and they had us change our login information, but that had absolutely zero effect. They seem utterly unaware of and perplexed by the problem. So far, no resolution.
