Multiple locations, DVR usage and local channels.
I have two homes, one in Georgia and one in Maryland. The primary location will be Georgia. I plan to use the Stream Box units in both locations. I have a couple of questions.
1) When using the Stream Box devices, will each location get the local channels for their area?
2) With the Unlimited Cloud DVR option, can each location have their stream box to record new episodes of TV network (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC) shows? For example can the Georgia local record a show like Chicago Fire from the Georgia local station and the Maryland record the same Chicago Fire episode but from the Maryland local?
3) Can the DVR keep the show recorded from Georgia separate from the ones recorded in Maryland? Are there user accounts for the DVR?
4) Since the Maryland location will be the second location and is limited to 3streams total, does that mean if they are watching one live feed via the stream box, then they would be limited to recording only 2 shows at the same time to the DVR?
5) The primary house in Georgia is fed by ATT 1gig Fiber. The Maryland house is fed by Verizon Fios Fiber. Will the second location using non-ATT internet be a problem?

Hello, we'll be more than glad to resolve your concerns about DIRECTV STREAM. The stream device won't have any problem tuning local channels in both different areas. You can record the shows on both areas, they don't interfere each other. Also you won't have any problem with the internet cable providers, they won't affect the connection while streaming. Let us know if there is any other concern we can assist you with. Jon, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Is there a reason you'd want to record the same program twice? Aside from local commercials, I'd assume it's the same episode of Chicago Fire.
Perhaps related to that question - no, there are no profiles (either for users or devices) - the DVR belongs to the account and all recordings are shared by all users/devices. (Profile support has been requested for years - maybe it will be added someday. But if so, I'd think DVR profiles would be by user rather than by device.)
Recording has nothing to do with streams. The cloud DVR exists on DirecTV servers and your devices' only role is to request that a recording happen. You can record effectively unlimited programs simultaneously - that uses no streams. Streams do matter for playback - playing a recording on a device uses a stream.
And "help"'s response on ISP's was oddly phrased. DirecTV Stream is an OTT (over the top) service (like Netflix or email) - it works over any internet service, provided your service is adequate (which a fiber connection certainly should be).
