Due to these broadcast rights and legal arrangements, certain games might not be available. @Loritechen -There is currently no way to "manually" set a recording to longer than its scheduled time. (That feature has be requested for years - for unknown reasons, they haven't directly addressed it.) What they have provided is that recording automatically extend to the length of the program/event for some sporting events, as briefly explained in the last paragraph of this support article. Unfortunately, NASCAR is not one of the sports this works for. So the best you can do right now (as the DTV rep was perhaps trying to say) is to also record the program scheduled after the program you are interested in.
If it’s too hard to figure out overtime, then how about the option on recordings that is available to extend the recording and I also use the feature of recording a channel for a set period of time, both of those features are available on DTV Sattellite. thanks

but hey Direct tv Stream,
