NBC Sports Boston in Connecticut

The Boston Celtics are in the NBA Finals, and I would like to see the pre and postgame shows on NBC Sports Boston. DTS carries NBCSB throughout New England, except Connecticut. I live close enough to RI that I can drive 2 exits up and watch it on my phone. (I'd rather not) So, can this be fixed or explained before the Finals are over please?

I'm confused by your post. What exactly do you want explained or fixed? And this is a public forum and we are customers just like you.

I believe you are referring to blackout restrictions, which cannot be  'fixed' by anyone here or DIRECTV STREAM support. Blackouts only allow in-market viewers to see their teams, there is no way for out of market viewers to watch blackout games. There are a few ways to get around this like a VPN, but these are not official ways and not at all recommended for anyone.

No, I'm not talking about blackouts. I'm talking about DTS not carrying a channel in CT that is carried in the other 5 New England states.

Hi @FuschiaGoddess , we want to clear all your questions about it.

NBC Sports Boston it's a regional sport network. Those channels are determined by their Billing ZIP Code. You can review your locals channels availability here.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I will be here for you.

You should see a red dot on a small speech balloon in the upper right corner of the page, next to the bell.  If so, click on the speech balloon.

However, I believe that Connecticut is considered to be the RSN territory of the New York City NBA team, and that's why you can't see the Celtic's RSN.

Found the dot and chat icon - have to be logged in. (Derp) I know that NBCSB is available in CT via both Cox and Xfinity, so I don't think it's a NY NBA issue. It's also carried by YouTube TV here, but they don't have NESN anywhere due to a contractual issue. And yes I have the Sports package.

I don't know if RSN regions go by (Nielsen) DMA, but DTS generally acts like they do.  Connecticut is split into 2 different DMAs - most of the state is in the "Hartford & New Haven" DMA (and I would guess get NBCSB, along with a bunch of other RSNs) while Fairfield county is in the "New York" DMA (and probably gets NY RSNs).
