No Local Weather Channel
Direct Stream doesn't have local weather, that's a problem. So I would use Firestick app. Up until few days ago it worked fine, but now it quit working, so I go to Fire Stick app, down load, get code and sign in to ATT and I get "that didn't go as planned". Seems like Firestick does recognize AT&T as my provider. What happened?

Code for what? DirecTV Stream does not require a code. The Weather Channel is available on DirecTV Stream for Choice packages and above. Channel lineups can be viewed here
AT&T has nothing to do with the service. They spun the service off to DirecTV months ago. Your provider should be DirecTV Stream is they support the app.

Happened after the last Weather Channel update. I already contacted the Weather Channel app people--weather group---and they know about the issue and are working on it.
I sideloaded the previous version on my android tv box. You can do the same on firestick (until they fix it) and it works fine. Version 3.3.5 You can get the apk on apkrmirror

Update working fine on my devices. Roku, Fire Sticks, and Chromebook. In fact if you have a mobile device (phone, tablet, PC, or even a Chromebook) there is no authentication. It's free. At least it was when I installed that app on those devices.

Weather Channel app on your phone is just a radar and forecasts and is not the same as the Weather Channel app on android tv, roku, and firestick. Weather Channel app on those devices also has Weather Channel live tv. They are having issues with authentication because, like I said, "weathergroup" told me via email they are having issues with certain providers since the recent update.

Thanks Lud, yes it's the WC live app on Firestick. Hard to explain but you got it. I didn't know WHO to contact. Dang...guess I'll see if it works another day. Updates are KILLING me as of late.
