No sound on some channels

No sound on some channels.  Uninstalled and reinstalled app, cleared data, etc. using FireTV.  Link in forum to most recent thread regarding "sound" is dead.  Nothing but problems since the beginning with DirecTV Stream.

See if this helps. Go to "Settings/System/Audio" and try changing the Audio Output setting to something different than it is. Sometimes surround gives problems and stereo works fine.

Here's some tips to troubleshoot your sound:

  • Check the volume level and mute settings on your TV and any audio-visual receivers you may have.
  • Check audio settings on your device using your remote: Press the Home button, then Settings > System > Remote & Devices > Program Your Remote > Advanced Remote Program > Switch Volume Control.
  • Make sure that your optical audio cable or HDMI cable is snugly attached to your device, the TV, and any receivers.
  • Connect your device to a different input to see if you can hear sound.
