Non-network Commercials Cause Juddering/Lag on 4k Firestick App
Using the DTV Stream app on a 4k Amazon Firestick. On non-major network channels (anything other than ABC, NBC, CBS, etc.) some commercials cause the sound to judder and lag. When this happens, going up or down a channel and immediately going back to the original channel fixes the issue, but a different commercial is playing. Sometimes, instead of a different commercial, the insipid "Commercial Break in Progress" comes up when returning to the original channel. The channel plays OK until another commercial break that the app seems not to like.
Based on the above, it seems the issue is caused by a conflict between the local commercials and the network commercials.
Anyone else having this issue? DirectTV, is there a fix for this?

I was told by phone that the app needs to be fixed. There is no timeframe for this.
Go up or down a channel and back to the original channel. It's a pain, but the only work-around I've found.

Having the same issue. I click on the middle of the channel changer button and then click on CC/Audio on the bottom of the screen and then toggle over to audio and click on alternate and it fixes it until you turn your TV off and then you have to do it again, very annoying.

Have also had this problem for a very long time. Was originally just on the Game Show Network. I called some months ago and the support person said they’d reset my service (they did not), that a technician would call in a half hour to confirm the fix (no call) and that she’d call back the next day to see if everything was resolved (she did not). However, I did get a jillion calls ahead of the 4th of July weekend (to offer me a movie package I’m sure. Now this affects MSNBC as well, only much worse - seems to be local (Menards) and national (Medicare/other) commercials. Really aggravating, and I’m not generally a complainer.

Is there any real fix for this? It’s terrible on the Game Show Network (several times per hour sometimes) and often a problem on MSNBC. I have never encountered it on other channels.

Yah the fix is get a Dtv Stream box. Refurbished ones are 49.99 with a one yr warranty from Dtv. Box comes with a remote with numbers for channel changing. Also has shortcut buttons for guide, dvr list, record, previous channel and the ff/rewind works much better. U also get the google play store for your other apps so u can ditch your firestick.

Yes it's still an issue and highly annoying. Seems to affect conservative news networks like newsmax and fox, but not msnbc or cnn. First noticed it a long time ago when they still had OAN. This is on a 3rd gen firetv stick 6390026.1 running 6.2.9.1
