On Demand keeps switching back to live TV
I’ve been trying to watch a few shows on demand. I can get them loaded and watch without interruption for a couple minutes. Then every minute or so I keep getting a pop up on the bottom of the screen saying “returning to live TV in 10 seconds” then it counts down and if I don’t close the box in time it turns off my on demand show and switches me back to live tv. This is getting really annoying. I’ve checked for software updates, rebooted my device and even 7 installed and reinstalled the app. Anyone know what is going on?

Is it every OnDemand show or just a particular show? All the same network or all networks?

So far it’s been different shows but same network (Bravo). I’ll test it out with other networks and report back in a bit. Watching on my iPad through the app in these instances. We’re brand new to DirectTV Stream so this has been a frustrating first go with it. Also somewhat unrelated maybe, I have checked the box to tell it not to “start live tv on startup” yet no matter what is checked, live TV starts up.

We understand how frustrating it can be to not watch your favorite shows. Try to reset your receiver and troubleshoot your app here so that your system is refreshed. Then see if you're able to watch your demand on the app.

So it’s only happening on my iPad (not receiver). It is happening with all shows and networks. Something is off with the “live tv on startup” because even though I have it “off” it keeps coming on. No matter how many times I turn it off, live tv keeps coming on. My guess is the app is buggy if there’s no way to keep live tv off.

It'a a different app code for the iPad then your streaming device.

Yes I have DirectTV Stream, choice package. I have 2 devices on TVs but this problem is isolated to my iPad when viewing via the app. Essentially Live TV is completely taking over iPad viewing via the app. All iOS and DirectTV Stream is up to date.
