Other Streaming Not Buffering

In response to previous comment.  Direct TV streaming is the only one buffering and lagging, for me.  My Netflix, Hulu and Disney+ does not buffer or lag.

Have reset Samsung TV (device) and accomplished all the "fix actions" save for connecting directly (RJ45), which is not currently feasible - router is upstairs, TV is downstairs.

Lots of reports here with the Samsung DirecTV Stream App. Have you tried deleting and reinstalling that App?  Supposedly there's an improved update available.

Chances are that you are experiencing buffering somewhere along the data path. Comparing multi-stream service like DirecTV Stream to single streams services like Netflix is like comparing apples to oranges. They are not the same.

Will do that now (uninstall and reinstall), reason I posted my other streaming apps is someone asked previously about if I were having issues.... understand the apples to oranges analogy with streaming.

Hey @TexasTater, we're here to hep you.

Try these tips:
  1. Check for app updates in your app store. If an update is available, install it and restart your device.
  2. Check for device software updates and install.
  3. Close and restart the DIRECTV STREAM app.
  4. Reboot your device.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall the DIRECTV STREAM app.

I doubt it's a DirecTV Stream issue. Most of these reports are coming from Samsung TV owners using the Samsung App.

Im having this same issue. We used Fubo and it was great but limited sports.  We got DirectTV because they had the NHL but can hardly watch a game. Is there a workaround?

If you have a Samsung Smart TV then no. Suggest that you invest in a external streaming devices if still want to pursue the service.

I cant believe that this app has had the problem for years and ATT refuse to fix it, the app drops out, I back it up, and it drops out at the exact some spot.  Its not my TV, other apps work fine.  The app is up to date. My internet tests at 450MB Down and 20 up, so that isn't the issue and is in direct line of the router. The TV is on the approved list. This is the only app on the Samsung TV that acts this way(Hulu, Netflix, Prime, heck even free apps like tubi work just find. Fix the app!!!!

As has been previously mentioned, use an external device if you still want to pursue the service. You are just preaching to other subscribers here in this forum. It's obvious they have no intentions to fix the app. Rant will get you nowhere from here.

Not purchasing anything because they won't fix it.  The software needs fixed or don't offer it.  It's bad business and crappy service for a company so huge

@dealsproffitt

It's certainly your choice if you don't want to purchase a $30 Roku or FireStick to solve this issue. Bottom line is that native TV apps have never been very reliable, and it's unlikely that the Samsung app will ever be truly fixed. I agree that they should drop it from the supported devices list.

Just do what I did. Sign up for another service. I signed up for Fubo and its so much better.

I looked at Fubo ... They're competitively priced but it seems they tend to drop channels quickly when agreement negotiations break down.

I could go with their basic package for $64.95 and all I would lose is A&E and History channels. However, HBO Max would be an additional cost @ $14.95 instead of the $5.00 I pay with my DTV.

On the over-all i would save $20 a month and lose a few channels I watch but the big one for me was the History Channel.

Watching tv should be relaxing, watching with Direct TV and the Samsung app is not relaxing.
