Pausing problem.
I’m new to direct TV fiber optics stream w all new equipment on 4 tv’s throughout the house. Had their satellite before. This never happened b4 this new system.
Show will stay paused for 15-20 minutes then jumps back to live tv and all pause is lost. I have to pause programs a lot & am missing all of them due to this problem. Help is much appreciated.

If you have to get up and pause and don’t know when you’re returning, record the show. Once you come back you can resume or if the 60 min buffer has exhausted you can playback the recording in progress you will find in your library. Remember something important: the pause functionality has a 60 min buffer. Once the buffer exhausts it will resume automatically and the buffer will move accordingly along with the live point. If the program ends while you paused then once it resumes automatically it will go to the next program in ten guide.

What device are you using?
Is your device using wifi or Ethernet?

@GiGi1965 if you have other DIRECTV STREAM devices in the home, do they have similar symptoms? Please run an upload and download speed test on the DIRECTV STREAM box so that we can analyze if they are suitable for the service.

@detuch254
thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I don’t have a clue how to run an upload and download speed test on the DIRECTV STREAM box.

@GiGi1965 visit speedtest.net on the browser and click ‘GO’ when ready. It should take a few moments and release two speeds, an upload and download speed.

You can also download the Analiti app, from the app store, into your DirecTV Streaming box, to test your signal strength at your device.
You can have say a 200 mbps Internet, at your router, but when it is converted to wifi there are things that reduce that signal. Things like wall, doors and floors that your wifi signal has to travel through, from the time it leaves your router till it reaches your device. Also the distance between the device and the router effects signal strength. Also, all routers are not the same. Some have a lot further reach of their wifi signal than others do.
