problem logging in and watghing on my laptop

Hi, I have always used my Acer laptop to login and watch my Directv Stream with no Problems when I am away from home. I also have 2 smart tvs that I watch Directv Stream on. One is a Samsung Smart TV which runs DTV Streaming fine. The other is a LG Smart TV which I found out after I bought it that Directv Stream is not compatible with LG Smart TVs so I run a Roku Stick and it works fine. When will LG and Directv Stream work together? I also have an old Toshiba with a Roku stick and it works fine.

The last 2 days when I try to watch Directv Stream on my laptop with the Directv Stream App it loads the channel screen and stops there and never broadcasts the program on that channel, this does this no matter what channel I select. This only happens when I watch on the laptop whether I display it on the laptop or to another TV which I do alot. It is working fine on all my other TVs with or without a Roku stick. I'm going on vaca soon and want to watch my Directv Stream while away. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Mike

Hello @wmh9680, we want you to have a great experience with the app, and we apologize for any trouble this caused. We continue working with our support team to have LG as a compatible device for our DIRECTV Stream service.

Regarding the issues with the app on your laptop, please follow the troubleshooting steps to fix common issues, at https://www.directv.com/support/article/000066174. If the trouble continues, you can uninstall and reinstall the app from your device. You can use the same app if you'll be out of town with the compatible devices listed at https://www.directv.com/support/article/000066174.  For a personalized support, please send us a PM. DIRECTV wishes you an excellent trip. Jhon, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Have you tried running the (chrome) browser in incognito mode (or the equivalent in other browsers - private in edge, Firefox, and safari - not sure about any others)?  That will block all extensions you haven’t white listed, so will help if you have any that cause issues (and some do).

As far as LG goes - they haven’t added a “really” new platform in a long time, and WebOS wouldn’t be a trivial port like AndroidTV was (since they basically already supported it).  No one “out here” would have any idea of their future plans (and they don’t say anything about new things until they actually arrive), but my guess is that you shouldn’t hold your breath. The general consensus of the long time users is that outboard devices are better anyway, since they get more consistent/solid (and longer term) updates than embedded “smarts” and generally have fewer problems.
