Problem pausing or fast forwarding a recorded program on Roku
When I want to watch a sporting event that has already started and is being recorded in my DVR, I go in my library and select the event which is currently recording but not finished yet. The recording will start from the beginning of the event as normal, but if I try to fast forward or pause ect... the controls seem to freeze up or it will stick on FF until it catches up with live and will not allow you to control the recording any longer. I have to exit back out and start the recording all over again. I am using a Roku box with Direct tv stream and have not had any issues until the last couple of weeks. Thanks.

Hello @hughro, thanks for reaching us.
We're sorry to know that you're experiencing this issue with your sports recordings. To make sure we cover all your needs, have you tried using a different device getting the same results or uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

I have uninstalled the app from the Roku home page and then reinstalled. I have also tried on a different device which is also Roku but have the same problem. I have also checked the Roku for updates and it says everything is current. Thank you.

I have been having this issue for the last week or so too.
Pause/FF/RW all worked fine in directv stream until a week or two ago on my old Roku (streaming stick?). I now see the same problem on a brand new Roku streaming stick 4k+.
I do not see this problem with other apps on my Roku (apple tv, netflix, youtube, prime, etc).
The remote is fully charged. My internet speeds are fine. I have rebooted the app and the roku.
Specifically, this is what I am seeing: When I am watching DVR'd shows (sports), I can sometimes pause, fast forward, or rewind. But it very frequently stops responding to ff/rw/replay/pause button presses. I might try to rewind and it won't respond. Or I might start fast forwarding through the commercials and it will do so but will stop responding when I try to stop. I can always immediately exit the app by pressing the home button. So this is not a problem with the remote.
I am 99% certain this is a bug in recent versions of the directv stream roku app.
I am on version 3.31, build 3440106.

I am having this same issue. No problem with most recorded shows, except basketball. Which is...the only reason I have a subscription. Has Directv taken away permissions to use these controls while a game is still live, but watched on dvr?

Having the same issue with Root Sports channel. Only does it on the Blazers game if the recording has not finished yet. Started within the last week or two. Tried resetting the remote and replacing the batteries.

This exact same problem is happening to us with recorded shows using the DirectTV Stream app on a Roku. Only started within the last few weeks. It must be a DIRECTV stream issue specific to Roku as it doesn’t happen with any of the other apps on the Roku. Extremely frustrating!!!! Please address this.

Hey @DIRECTVhelp can we get a follow-up? This is ruining the only reason I subscribe to your service.

Same problem here. Is there any other way to report this issue or get DirectTV to acknowledge and hopefully address it? Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Best I can do right now is cast the game from my iPad directly to the TV which is a pain.

I'm also casting the game to the TV with my surface pro but this only works so-so and has issues. Please fix this issue. Live sports is this main selling point for us with Directv and we're very frustrated! Please respond

I have the exact same issue on multiple Roku Ultras. It seems to occur only on programs that are currently being recorded. I called DirecTV support and they had no idea but I agree this is a software bug on a recent update. It just started happening for me a week or two ago with no changes in my setup.

I am having the same issue and it is happening on 4 separate Roku devices of different generations. After watching a show for a while it seems to start working properly. I have tried different sequences of actions to see if some combination made it work right, but haven’t found the sequence yet. This is very annoying

I am having the exact same issue on my Roku Ultra. Very frustrating. I may be switching to YouTubeTV along with the Bally Sports streaming app for local professional sports given the lack of response.

Same exact issue. FF, RW, Pause and Play all stalling and failing when trying to watch NBA games while they are recording on my Roku Ultra. This is not happening on computers or on my Apple TV, or to any other streaming service running on the Roku Ultra. Began 7-10 days ago.
Unistalling and reinstalling the DirecTV app has not fixed it. Also restarted the Roku and the app numerous times which also didn't help.
