Problems with Streaming on Roku

I am having constant, intermittent problems with streaming on Roku.  The program just gets stuck in the buffering stage and doesn't start to play; if I switch to my library to view something I've recorded, I get bumped out.  This doesn't happen all the time -- usually it happens after I've been watching for a while, and then shut off the tv or switch to another streaming service for a while and come back.  If I wait a couple of hours it will usually be ok --so I think it's some sort of caching problem.  It's not my connection, because other streaming services work fine -- also I can easily pull up the streams on my smartphone app.

I am a longtime user of Directv Stream and this problem started a few weeks ago.  It's very frustrating because I really have no clue when I turn on the TV whether or not Directv will be working for me.

The Directv app is version 3.31, build 3410105

I have a Roku TV running version 11.0.0, Build 4193

Thank you for your reply, but I already tried all those things - MANY TIMES. The problem has persisted.  I think it probably is tied to the software upgrade to version 3.31, but I don't know when that was pushed out as my system automatically checks for updates every day.
