Recording Live Sports Missing Recordings
Anyone else having problems recording from the Tennis Channel on DirecTv Stream? Tournaments have multiple live schedule entries each day and I select all of them to record, but only the first one records. It’s as if the systems says “I already recorded that episode, why record it twice?” when it is actually more live and therefore new content.
On the west coast, I have to get up at 3am just to manually record so I can watch it after work.
Happens whether I set it from the set top box or the iOS app.
Fix this!

Before we get started, we'd like to gather some information to find out the cause of this issue.
2. Are you getting any error code/message when trying to record the games?
3. How are you recording the games?

Yes we have this problem also, and have done for 18 months. It happens whether I set up to record on my computer, tablet, or Apple TV - i.e. please do not tell me to reboot / re-install the app etc. The issue is that the DirectTv software cannot distinguish between different programs on tennis channel with the same title - so whatever tournament it will record the day session but then think that it has already recorded the night session. Does it happen on other channels? I don't know. If I worked for DirectTv I would investigate that, but I don't. Bored with calling to try and get this resolved, actively looking for an alternative streaming service.

I can also confirm this problem. Has nothing to do with rebooting, what you schedule the series on, ie...tablet, phone DirecTV stream box...etc. It is exactly as Andyintheusa describes. I have the exact same issue with the Tennis channel. Madrid tournament is on right now. The series in is in the quarters... Once the first block ends, which happens to be titled the same as the second block, recording stops. So you end up missing the second block of the event. Even if you remove the series and manually record each episode so you don't miss it, the upcoming recordings show that the second block will not record. As I said, even if you manually set it to record. So, as of now...short of waking up in the middle of the night, since it is an overseas tournament, there is no fix for this. Obviously this is DirecTV's way of keeping people from recording the same episode more than once. Understood, I get it....but at least make a way to extend recording times to circumvent the problem. (Edited per community guidelines), my Tivo had a similar issue but at least I could extend the recording time. This could be fixed by allowing extending recording time, fix the program naming convention or just allowing duplicate recordings. Its not rocket science...
