Recordings

Can you record anything at your vacation home? I see people saying you can’t record local stations. Can you record other networks though as in TNT,TBS,HGTV,etc…..

Yes, you can record those networks. And it depends on your streaming device. If your streaming device does not utilize "location services", then you'll continue to see your home location stations, not the stations local to your vacation home. For example, when we travel with our Roku, we continue to see our home location stations regardless of our actual location. But our iPhone/iPads see the stations where we're traveling.

Thank you for the information, @litzdog911. @TheTruth723 If your device uses location services to provide Local channels, you cannot set recordings for the local channels of the Designated Market Area or the local channels where you're traveling. If your device doesn't have location service, content is provided by Billing Zip code only, you can set recordings for the Local channels of the Home Designated Market Area, and RSN based on the billing ZIP Code. You can visit Watch Local Channels | DIRECTV Support to learn how your location and billing Zip Code affect local channels. Sean, DIRECTV Community Specialist
