Remote issues
Over the past couple of the days, the remote has not been working properly. I can turn on he stream box but cannot get the guide to come up. I changed the batteries and following that, the remote would not work at all. I unpaired and then performed the pairing process and that seemed to fix the issue except that the mute button doesn't work; I have to use a different remote just to mute the sound. When I press the mute button, I see a light flashing on the Gemini box. The remote is showing red and blue lights.
Hoping for a quick fix, i reached out to the social media team on X, where I subsequently found out that DirecTV has made it nearly impossible to speak with a human. Instead I have to converse with a virtual assistant who maybe might get a human to help.
Edit: I have a Sonos Arc soundbar that I use for surround sound. From what I can tell from looking at my purchase history at best buy is that the sonos arc is ARCG1US1BLK but i still can't control the volume despite a success message in the setup.

Have you restarted the box? Not just turn off and on..........go into settings and do the restart

Could not find a restart in settings so I pressed the button on the side of the box which restarted it. Still cannot control volume as i could previously.

Might be a faulty remote. Amazon sells them for like 20 bucks

So a record that worked just fine until I changed the batteries just randomly becomes faulty?

I have gone to the Sonos sub Reddit and asked about this issue. It was explained that by following her previously suggested steps from DIRECTV that I had programmed the remote to operate the soundbar, and that it needed to be programmed to the TV,
i went back to the settings and deleted the programming and then only programming the TV. Sound did not increase, decrease , or mute.
remote had no issues until Monday evening when the guide would not come up. I change the batteries and now I have no control over sound unless I use a separate remote.
Only after posting an open message on X did someone finally respond to me; probably still would have been fighting with the virtual assistant that seems to only be able to rephrase what I post and tell me that it will get someone to assist.
DIRECTV representative only helps by telling me to call a number; the same number I already called and could not get any help
