Should I go to the AT&T Store for a replacement Direct TV Stream remote or can I order one from home?

You won't find one at an AT&T store. Cheapest via Amazon or eBay.

Are you saying that AT&T won't replace (for free) my worn out remote?

The problem with the remote is, when we fast forward, the action shown in the window does not match what is actually happening on the recording. We will fast forward through a commercial and stop fast forwarding at the end. When we press play, the show is about 30 to 60 seconds past the commercial. Every time we fast forward, we have to hit reverse several times to get back to where the commercial ends and the show starts back up. We've had this problem for several months. We set up another tv in our bedroom and the remote that came with the new box does not have this problem.

That's not a problem with the remote. A replacement won't solve that issue. It's simply a matter of timing when you hit Play to end the FF. I think that the satellite equipment did a better job of compensating for the delay between ending FF and beginning Play.

I don't know about AT&T TV, but on my old DirecTV satellite DVR when you did a FF and then hit Play, the DVR would spool the recording back a few seconds. On Stream, when you hit Play it doesn't do that. It's not clear to me that it's even possible given the different nature of how streams are delivered or "recorded".

I have had Stream since it came out. It's been doing this for the past 5 months.

I got my replacement remote (free) from AT&T yesterday and it solved our fast forward problem.
