Remove Chromecast Castable Device

I recently replaced one of my Directv set-top boxes with a new set-top box and I’m trying to figure out how to remove the old set-top box from the list of castable devices.

When I go to YouTube on my iPhone and attempt to cast it to a screen I see both the old set-top box (which I no longer have) and the new set-top box.

How do I remove the old set-top box from the list of castable devices?

Thanks!

Just to let you know, support for DIRECTV Services has moved to the DIRECTV Community Forums site. If you slide over forums.directv.com, you’ll land in the right place. 😊

Ignore @directv_community_forums

Is the old DIRECTV STREAM Osprey Box still plugged in and on your WiFi network? If so, remove it.

Otherwise, no, there is no way to physically ‘remove’ it from a castable list.

Have you tried a factory reset to get the device to where you want it?

It’s not a setting in the device.  It’s on the network.

I no longer have the old set-top box. I returned it to Directv and it is no longer on my network, but it still shows up in the list of castable devices.

OK,  are both devices listed in your router? If so try disallowing the device you don't want. If bluetooth remove from that list.

It doesn’t show up as a device on my WI-FI Router and it’s not in Google Home either.  Where else would it be coming from?

If it was bothering me that much I would reset all to factory settings and reload  everything. That includes router, media device, tv, avr or soundbar.

I’ve given the new set-top box a different name from the old set-top box so that I can recognize it easily and I can live with that.  I’ll see if I can find a Google Chromecast Forum for further help.

Is there somewhere in your phone settings you can remove devices? On my android phone I can remove devices under connections-- bluetooth.

Maybe try going to the youtube app in settings and clear the cache/data.
