Roku audio is being clipped on DirectTv Stream

Just signed up and installed DirectTV Stream on my Roku Ultra device. It immediately started clipping the audio every 5 to 10 seconds. By clipping I mean the audio cuts out for about 1/2 to 1 second. Quite annoying. I played around with the audio settings on Roku and it didn't help. I uninstalled DirectTV Stream app, rebooted Roku device, reinstalled the app and it didn't help. I unplugged the Roku device and it didn't help.

I then installed it on my Fire stick from amazon on another TV and it works fine. No clipping of audio. So I installed it on another Roku device attached to another TV and had the same problem as the first Roku.

Two of the TV's have a smart remote that is programmed for Roku so just switching to another streaming device would be a problem. If the problem cannot be fixed I would have to consider going to another streaming service.

Roku device info:

Model: 4670X-Roku Ultra

Software: 10.5.0 Build: 4208-46

DirectTV Stream App info:

Build: 30330101

Version: 3.27

How is the Roku connected to your TV? Soundbar? AV Surround Receiver?

That's a good question. One is connected to my Yamaha Sound Bar and the other to a Yamaha Music Cast enabled receiver. So I ran the Roku directly to another TV and the sound problem disappeared. It appears the problem is with the Roku to Music Cast part. Thanks for helping me diagnose the problem!

I have the same issue with audio when using DirecTV Stream on my Roku Ultra via HDMI to my Yamaha RX-V683BL receiver. The only way I've been able to resolve this is by setting the Roku audio output to Stereo. Too bad I can't do this just for the DirecTV Stream app on the Roku. This issue occurs regardless of HDMI cable, Roku Ultra device or Yamaha receiver settings used.
