Roku Ultra audio issue on Directv Stream

I have an aufii issues on 2 different Roku Ultras. It is very frustrating that the sound randomly goes down to almost muted or gets very distorted and statically. I have replaced all the cables and it continues to be a problem. I have also sent back an Ultra to Roku for replacement, but it still an issue. The help on your website does not address or resolve these specific issues with the app. Please provide a solution. Thank you

@Taters10 this is a public forum and we are customers just like you. This is either an issue with the DIRECTV STREAM app for Roku Ultra (can someone else confirm if they have this issue?) or your TV audio settings for both ROKU ULTRAS. In the rare occurance, it could be a poor internet connection causing delays and weird audio mishaps.

Also, does this happen on ALL DIRECTV STREAM channels or ONLY ONE OR SOME? If only some or one, please specify which ones.

There have been other posts here about audio issues with DirecTV Stream on Roku devices. It's a puzzling issue, though. I have three different Roku devices, including an Ultra, and none of them have this issue.

I have a similar issue.  The audio drops about every 10 seconds briefly.  Roku Ultra and it happens on all DirecTV steaming channels.  It does not have on another Roku device I own.  Very frustrating.

I have 2 Roku Ultra devices, one connected to an LG TV, the other on a Sony TV. Both are connected via an ethernet cable. Both have periodic audio problems, both can be corrected by switching channels and then going back to the same channel. No other streaming service has an audio problem. I also have a fire stick connected to a Sony tv - no problems with the audio; the audio is HDMI ARC, so another big difference. The common denominator is the Direct TV Streaming app. I believe there is an issue with running the app on a Roku Ultra streaming device.

Switching channels doesn't resolve the issue for me, audio dropouts every 10 seconds happen on all channels.  No other apps on the Roku Ultra have any audio issues.

Update.  If I switch to stereo output on the Roku Ultra settings, the audio dropouts stop.  However, I DO NOT want to lose surround sound from the device so that is NOT an option for me.  Are there any other devices that do support DirecTV and surround sound that aren't as expensive as the DirecTV Stream device?  Or, is there a solution to my surround sound audio dropouts every 10 seconds on my Roku Ultra device?

I contacted support and reported specifically what the issue is, the workarounds and their drawbacks.  Thank you all for your feedback and help in this matter.  To restate, the issue is as follows:

The DirecTV app on Roku Ultra will drop the audio about every 10 seconds momentarily.  The problem does not occur on any other app on the device.  The workarounds are:

1) Set the Roku to stereo mode in the Roku settings for audio.  That eliminates the audio dropouts but also eliminates surround sound.  Since this is a global setting, it is no good.

2) While viewing the DirecTV Roku app, change the audio to leveling.  That eliminates dynamic audio range and is not a good compromise either as the same volume level is no good for movies, etc.

The support person assured me that my information will be passed to the technical team.  Who knows what they will do but at least they may be informed.
