Rudolph the Red-Nosed reindeer
Why on earth after watching the first 4 minutes of Rudolph the Red-Nosed reindeer on CBS did an error message pop up which states the broadcaster provider restricted access to this program it is not available. How could this be? CBS is an over-the-air station and they show Rudolph the Red-Nosed reindeer every year. What is going on?

OUTRAGEOUS ! I pay monthly for service. So, If I had AT&T Uverse or Comcast Cable, or OTA antenna I have no issue? DirectTV, you need to fix this ASAP.

It's not Dtv Stream's fault. It's CBS. Someone else owns the rights to streaming all the holiday shows. They are all coming up on Freeform next month.

I would Argue that CBS OTA is broadcasting this show. CBS is not blocking, it is DTV who opted to not pay the license fee. Take My $$ each month but not deliver on the Network TV programing. that is indeed a DTV issue. This is less about Rudolf and more about blocked content.

This is an issue over multiple streaming platforms it is not just Directv Stream. Whoever owns the rights to the shows restricted the shows from being streamed while airing on CBS. Why who knows it is very stupid.

@toddmartin69 OTA is not streaming. Streaming is limited b/c someone else owns the rights. But like I said---all the holiday shows are on Freeform next month. I gave a link to the schedule. Again, this is not DTV decision. It's CBS.

This happened last year as well. CBS does not have the rights to stream this and other popular holiday movies so they have to black it out on streaming services. Nothing directv can do.

@jimchait Freeform owns the streaming rights for Frosty and Rudolph, streaming rights are different than broadcast rights, since Freeform owns the streaming rights CBS has to blackout Frosty and Rudolph on all streaming services/platforms, watching on cable/satellite/antenna is NOT the Same as streaming therefore CBS can air Frosty and Rudolph on traditional cable/satellite and antenna

*On air only. Not available in the livestream.
This shows up on the Freeform 25 days of Christmas site. Frosty and Rudolph have the asterisk next to them. Does this mean those will be blocked on Freeform as well?

You got it! They have never been able to stream because of copyright laws. Nothing new.
