Sharing account with a family member
Hi. In searching online for information about this topic, I see discussions such as what locals and RSN a person will see depending upon where they live. What I’m trying to find out is about things like DVR programs. If I share my account with somebody else, will they be able to delete my DVR programs and fill up my DVR with their recordings? Is there some way of having a profile or some other means of separation? Thanks.

DirecTV Stream now offers profiles, so just add them.
As far as space, there is no physical DVR. Everything is stored in the cloud and besides you have unlimited storage.

Only share with someone you know and can trust. Also, Directv Stream just recently added Profiles so if you do choose to share with someone you can create different profiles the only drawback is you can only have 5 profiles per account. The only way someone would be able to delete your cloud DVR content is for someone to go into your profile and purposely delete it.

@bcbsncjlj thanks. I didn’t mean it to sound like I’m worried about running out of DVR space, just the annoyance of having the DVR cluttered up with a bunch more programs someone else adds on. There’s also the possibility of someone accidentally deleting my shows. Hopefully, if they go to their own profile, none of that is an issue. (That’s IF they go to their own profile.)
@Tiger593 thanks. I take it from your first sentence that one of my fears is well founded, that being that an untrustworthy person could actually cause mischief with your account since they have your sign-in information.
As for profiles, I was wishing there was more of a separation since this still means they could (accidentally or otherwise) wreak havoc on your profile.
Also, I’d just feel more comfortable with each of us having a little privacy as to what we’re watching.
