Slow video and unresponsive remote

Currently,  I've had to reset the steam box four times in the past 24 hours. I turn on the box and the video is in slow motion and the remote is unresponsive. This issue just all the sudden developed, but it's not consistent. 

Yesterday morning and yesterday evening I had to reset the box to watch TV. This morning I turn on the box and everything is fine (I didn't touch anything or change anything). Tonight I turn on the box and immediately have to do a reset to reset to watch TV. 

What is going on?

Sometimes you can do a factory reset and issues such as this will go away. I know it is a pain as it deletes all your settings and apps, but sometimes it is worth the bother to reprogram the box. Recently I restored an old streaming box, from the early days of AT&T Stream, and it got it to work again. It might be worth the try.

Yes, the reset does fix the problem but over the past three days, I had to reset the box four times; once this past Friday, Saturday morning and Saturday night, and then again Sunday evening 

It's not consistent - sometimes no issue at all with watching TV and then other times the slow video and unresponsive remote issue comes up requiring a reset.
