Sporting events cut short by DVR

One of the best tennis matches of this era--Australian Open Final Medvedev v. Nadal--was cut short on ESPN recording just before the climactic end of the fifth set. Has anyone else had issues with Direct TV Stream and sporting events? There have been a few TV repeatedly cut 2 minutes short and several other basketball games. YouTube TV always had much longer recordings, often several minutes before and 10-20 minutes after the conclusion of the games. There is no option to extend the recording by 30 or 60 minutes as on DVRs like Comcast/Xfinity.
