Yes. I do it all the time when traveling and staying in hotels. In fact using the service right now. Just understand that local programming and regional sport networks availability is based on your billing zip code.

Dtv stream box has google play store and there are vpn's available there. If OP used a VPN set to the United States would that work?

Using a VPN is blocked if they can detect it. A VPN is generally used to try to bypass location limitations and that very well may violate their content licenses with the networks so they don't allow it.
